Full Itinerary
Our guide will welcome you and we take an exciting drive to Kyoto by car. We will stop at Niji-Jo Castle which is well-known as a home to elegant traditional Japanese architecture along with a lovely garden in the surrounding area. The castle used to be the accommodation of the early shogun from the Edo Period. After becoming the imperial palace, it finally opens to the public as an ancient and historic site.
Taking a stroll along Kinkakuji Temple (also named as the Golden Pavillion), we can capture the beautiful scenery of this three-story temple overlooking the pond among an islet with two idyllic trees.
Next, we will visit Kiyomizu-Dera Temple whose name is Pure Water is a World Heritage Site. The temple is famous for its wooden stage in conjunction with a cherry blossom forest and maple trees.
If possible, we can discover the last place offered by our Japan shore excursions – Higashiyama District. The site provides the best discovery of ancient Kyoto in a dozen of wooden houses, local restaurants, and traditional stores. Trip ends when our driver transfers you back to Kyoto port.
