Following the pick up by our local tour guide at Tokyo port, you will be transferred to Harajuku District to visit Meiji Shrine, one of the holiest shrines built in 1920 to dedicate Emperor Meiji - the first emperor of modern Japan and his consort, Empress Shoken. The structure was completely destroyed in WW II and reconstructed in 1958 following its original shape.
Leave Meiji Shrine and travel through Shibuya Scramble Intersection, cross the way to the Imperial Palace Plaza - home of Japan’s imperial family, located in the park area of Edo castle. Enjoy the elegant views of the palace and the famous Nijubashi Bridge. Marvel at the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace - a scenic landscape was built to entertain the Japanese Royal family in the past.
After lunch at a local restaurant with a Tokyo typical food, head to Asakusa district to see the bustling daily life of local people. Stroll along the streets to admire skyscrapers, shops, restaurants, and theaters. Drive through the Tokyo Skytree - the symbol of Tokyo and enjoy a scenic walk through Nakamise Shopping Arcade – the way leading to one of the most well-known and colorful temples in Tokyo. This bustling street is fringed by dozens of souvenir boutiques, food stalls, and shops supplying local goods.
Spend the rest of the trip to visit Asakusa Sensoji Temple - one of the most colorful Buddhist temples in Japan. People said that three fishermen who tried to put the statue of the goddess of mercy – Kannon from the nest in Sumida River back to the river but then it returned to them. After that, the temple was constructed to dedicate the goddess of Kannon and completed in 645. Today it becomes the oldest temple in Tokyo. Trip ends at a good time, get on our vehicle to return to the port.
