Full Itinerary
Your guide and driver awaits you at the port and private car will transfer you to Nagoya city to visit the first tourist site - the ancient Atsuta Jingu Shrine. Stand in a pleasant wooded park in southern Nagoya, the shrine offers a peaceful haven from the vibrant life. It houses the sacred sword Kusanagi, one of the three imperial regalia. However, note that the sword is never displayed to the public. Another pleasant thing to after viewing the shrine is to try Atsuta Shrine's version of the kishimen noodles, one of Nagoya's local specialties.
Next, continue on Nagoya Castle, one of Japan’s largest castles, which houses a modern museum with a variety of exhibitions for tourists to learn about the castle’s history. The park surrounding the castle features with two circles of moats and impressive walls with corner turrets. The site becomes an attractive hanami spot during the cherry blossom season which usually peaks in late March or early April. Visiting the castle, you can see displays of Edo period firearms, a night market, dancing, beer, and illuminated lanterns.
Your driver then transfers you to the last destination of the shore trip, Arimatsu, where you embark for an amazing historic townscape, home to the well-known tie-dyed fabric. Using traditional methods, many products such as hand towels, light Kimono…are made to be handicraft souvenirs that are widely sold in department stores and kimono shops. You can buy them as some lovely gifts and a friendly reminder of this place. Trip ends at a good time and then return to the port for departure.
