Full Itinerary

Upon arrival at the port (8:00 AM), you will meet your guide and driver and proceed to tour by charter car/coach. First, the driver will take you to Hirado Castle, which stands on the hill serving as the guardian of Hirado Port and Hirado Strait. It was built and then destroyed by the Lord who had decided to construct it in the wartime. Nowadays, the new castle was reconstructed right on the original land. It becomes a must-visit place attracting tourists with its five history and classic architecture revealed in pure white color.

The second destination of the shore trip is St. Francis Xavier Memorial Church, a worshiping place for Catholic followers in Hirado city. The appearance of the church from the outside looks like a palace of Disney Princess with many tower-shaped tops. The outstanding feature of the church is the statue of St. Francis built to honor his visit in 1550. Spend your time strolling down the street and enjoy the spectacular view over Japanese temples and the Catholic Church. It creates one of the most exotic views in Kyushu Prefecture.

After that, head to the former residence of Matsuura clan, Matsuura Historical Museum. The museum nowadays houses plenty of ancient items and artifacts offering the chance to get a glimpse of the island’s history. More interestingly, you can try on Japanese traditional costumes in which men can dress up like a samurai and women are beautifully covered by Japanese kimonos. Then you will enjoy the old-tasted green tea and pure sweet flavor in a wooden teahouse while admiring the harmony played by birds and bamboo leaves outside.

Then, you will be transferred to the Yumihari Tower, the best place to enjoy the spectacular views over the well-known 99 islands of Kujukushima. It is the stop of your Sasebo port where your ship docking. From the top of the tower, you also can see the downtown with various traditional Japanese houses. We save the best for last, you will soak up the most famous observatory in Hirado city, Tenkaiho Observatory. Amazing trekking is waiting for you as you will climb to the top.
