Upon arrival at the port, your local guide has waited for you with welcome-board and then take a pleasant drive to the Kunimigaoka Observatory where you can enjoy the breathtaking natural landscapes. One of the highlights of the place is the amazing sea of clouds, especially on a little humid day in the autumn. At the top of the hill, you can soak up the spectacular panoramic view and immerse in the fresh atmosphere of nature.

The next stop of the shore trip is the peaceful Takachiho Shrine which is in the middle of a grove of ancient trees. You will admire the oasis of calm, peaceful reverence when you see unpainted wooden shrine buildings fit perfectly in the unspoiled natural setting. Moreover, the trip would not be completed without enjoying a nightly performance by masked dancers with traditional instruments.

Afterward, we head to the Takachiho Gorge for more breathtaking views. The gorge formed from lava from Mount Aso creates impressive high cliffs of volcanic basalt columns. There are two options for you to soak up the spectacular sceneries: Rent a boat rowing down the river to get an insight into the rocks and the waterfall, or trail the paved path that runs along the edge of the gorge.
