Full Itinerary
Meet your local guide and driver at the port and start off your journey with a short drive to the first destination - Akama-Jingu Shrine. Its establishment was to commemorate the death of emperor Antoku and his grandmother in the war of Genpei. From here, a great sight of Kaimon strait and red gate Suitenmon can be seen. Inside this shrine stores precious historical records indicating Japanese history and culture. This also serves as the main hall of Sentei festival on 3rd May annually.
Then head to the city’s main highlight Karato Market with the bustling atmosphere of energetic salespeople's voices and the rhythm of labor life. In this market of pufferfish, try on tasting the amazing savor of this luxury dish as well as purchase some fresh fish of different kinds at reasonable prices along with other products available such as vegetables, fresh flowers, and processed food.
Leave behind the hustle and bustle of Karato Market and move to Hinoyama Park - An urban park offering a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea. You might be shocked to hear that its night view is said to be worth 10 million dollars. Come here to see the amazing scenery of cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring. Also, enjoy an unobstructed vista while having a wonderful time to enjoy meals at a restaurant and go shopping in the souvenir shop located on the mountain's top.
At last, visit Chofu Castle Town to have an authentic insight into the old samurai's life through the remains of various samurai residences built after Mori’s settlement. Spreading towards the mountain, samurai town and many of the high positioned vassals residences remain to be seen in the townscape.
